McIntosh MA5300 Integrated Amplifier
This one was a doozy!
I finally got another McIntosh Amplifier in-house. And I took full advantage of having it on hand. It got used almost every single day that I had it.
For every speaker. For every use case. It effectively bumped the Evo 150 as my daily driver amplifier. This is the the entry level integrated amplifier from McIntosh's lineup. But unlike most entry level products, It’s not under specced. It's a full-size piece:
100 Watts into 8 Ohms
160 Watts into 4 Ohms
Comes with a DA1 Digital Audio Module which houses all of the digital inputs.
Optional dealer-installed upgrade to DA2 Digital Audio Module available
And it's assembled in the USA
With an MSRP of $6000 USD it’s not inexpensive, but what you do get is immense value for your money. The build quality is exceptional, they use expensive materials, and they have seemingly dotted all of the I’s and crossed the T’s.
The MA 5300 comes fitted with it comes with 6 analog inputs (4 unbalanced, 1 balanced, and 1 Moving Magnet input for turntables) and 6 digital inputs (2 each coaxial and optical, 1 USB, and 1 proprietary MCT for use with their MCT series of SACD/CD Transports). A 1/4” High Drive headphone output with Crossfeed Director.
And because they really want me to buy one of these in the near future, it has tone controls!
Included on the MA5300 are our McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks™ which are connected to advanced high current output transistors that eliminate warm-up time so you can enjoy the MA5300’s complete sonic capabilities from the moment you turn it on. Something I didn't notice until I decided to look at the spec sheet. New control microprocessors have been used to improve overall system operation, along with some of the latest audio-grade circuit components to deliver the best possible sound. Rounding out the MA5300 are time-tested McIntosh technologies including Power Guard®, Sentry Monitor™, Home Theater PassThru.
Want more specs? Watch the video, McIntosh prints the specs right onto the top of the amplifier, so I don't have to read the specs. Enjoy!
