The Teac UD 507 is a DAC/Preamp/Headphone amplifier
was sent over a few months back and I figured it would be a quick one. I mean how involved could a preamplifier headphone amplifier be?
Quite actually.
This is quite simply one of the coolest pieces of audio that I've gotten my paws on and if I'm being honest, as I record this review, I'm still coming to grips with all that it has to offer. I feel like I've just scratched the surface. And spec-wise, I don't quite understand everything that it offers.
Completely redesigned, the 500 Series DAC/Preamp/Headphone amplifier retails for $2100. The UD-507 is equipped with a proprietary “TRDD 5” discrete DAC, designed with musicality as the top priority. It is of course said to offer a clear soundstage and accurate imaging. It measures 11.4”(W)×3.3”(H)×9.8”(D) and weighs 10.8 lbs. Included are the power cord, Remote control ), AAA Batteries, 3-foot cushions, and the Owner's Manual.
