Cambridge Audio launches first over-ear wireless headphones: Melomania P100

Well, this is something interesting!

Cambridge Audio has at long last announced some new over-the-ear cans! Under the Melomania category, the Melomania P100! These new headphones feature a custom 40mm Mylar driver has been matched with hi-fi-grade Class AB amplification for ‘incredible sound quality that offers a more engaging listen than the Class D tech used by competitors’. These also support aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive. The headphones feature a 60-hour battery life (extending to 100 hours with noise-cancelling turned off) which should last through a work week or weekend getaway without the need to bring (and like me, potentially lose) a charger.

Sustainability is a big key with the release, as Cambridge has employed more than the usual plastic-free packaging, but has made provisions for user-replaceable batteries and earpads to extend the product’s lifespan. In addition, the headphones are comprised of 50% recycled plastic and aluminum, as well as recycled neodymium for the drivers.

As with all Cambridge products, P100 has been designed, tuned, and engineered at their London music venue and HQ, Melomania, by the same awesome team behind their award-winning hi-fi equipment that I swoon over.

Cambridge Audio Melomania P100 is available from July 2024 at cambridgeaudio.com and Amazon, priced at $279/£229/€279 and in a choice of white or black finishes.
