The New Q Acoustics m40

British audio specialist Q Acoustics today introduces the M40 powered micro-tower wireless audio system, the most convenient and cost-effective way to fill your home with full-size, powerful and immersive sound without filling your home with big, imposing loudspeakers.

Following the success of the award-winning M20 HD wireless audio system, Q Acoustics brings its expertise and latest acoustic technologies to an audio system with the flexibility to support numerous sources of music and the power to deliver full-scale sound – all in an unobtrusive, room-friendly design.

BIG CORRECTION FOR THE VIDEO ABOVE

The Driver Configuration is actually a Tweeter on top design which puts the tweeter at a level ear height.

Key Features

  • Ultra-compact micro-tower design (just 71cm tall)

  • 2 x 100 watts of built-in amplification

  • High-resolution wireless streaming via Bluetooth® 5.0 with aptX™ HD compatibility

  • C3 (pronounced ‘C-cubed’) Continuous Curved Cone™

At just 71cm high, these petite pillars are compact and discreet. They’ll fit seamlessly into any interior space, and their high-quality finish – available in Black, White and Walnut – will complement any home decor vocabulary. And they do so without compromising on the established Q Acoustics strengths of powerful, precise and engrossing sonic performance.

M40 is designed to serve up extraordinary high-resolution stereo sound no matter the setting. It’s ideal as a main audio system in settings where space is at a premium, it’s perfect as a step on the hi-fi ladder for those who don’t want a component-heavy system of hi-fi separates, and it’s the ultimate second-room system. There are no circumstances in which the M40 micro-tower powered audio system isn’t the correct answer.

Specified to meet every eventuality, the M40 is able to deliver stunning stereo sound no matter where it’s coming from. On board Bluetooth® 5.0 provides rock-solid wireless connectivity and is compatible with aptX HD and aptX Low Latency technology – so high-resolution sound (up to 24bit/48kHz) can be streamed from any compatible device such as a smartphone, laptop or tablet- and even appropriately specified televisions. Connect the M40 to a computer via its USB input and 24bit/192kHz resolution is available.

M40 has enough inputs to let your games console, your TV, a set-top box, pre-amplified turntable or any other source of sound that takes your fancy join in the high-resolution audio action. You can even attach a subwoofer in case you really want to shake the room. Whatever you want to listen to, the M40 can deal with it, in style.

The M40 features with the latest Q Acoustics advancement in driver technology: the C3 Continuous Curved Cone™ mid/bass driver. First seen and heard in the award-winning 5000 Series of loudspeakers, C3 (pronounced ‘C cubed’) combines the outstanding bass performance of a traditional straight cone with the high/midrange control and fidelity of a flared cone. The best of both worlds, in other words. The M40 adopts a Tweeter-at-the-top driver configuration.

In addition, the M40 features a decoupled tweeter for crisp, pure high frequency performance, along with Helmholtz Pressure Equaliser™ (HPE™)technology to reduce unwanted standing waves inside the cabinet. The cabinet itself is beautifully sculpted, flawlessly finished, and features Q Acoustics’ proprietary Point to Point™ (P2P™)internal bracing to keep the speaker as rigid and inert as possible.

It’s easy to set-up the M40 so the system is always performing to its maximum, no matter where it is in the room. As well as being able to designate the powered speaker as either the left or right channel (to make accessing mains power as simple as possible), there’s also an EQ switch to let the system know if each speaker is positioned in a corner, against a wall or in free space so its digital sound processing can work its magic and optimise the audio performance.

Particular attention has been given to the M40 grille design. Fixing the grille to the baffle, rather than be removable, allows for added strength derived from the baffle and significantly reduces the grille’s structure, particularly around the drivers. The result of the M40’s open grille design minimises disruption of sound dispersion patterns, while reducing reflections for a smoother sonic performance.

100 + 100 watts of Class D amplification provides the impetus. All you need to do is cue up your favourite tunes and let the M40 bring your music, movies and games vividly to life.
